Artem Loop-less sailcloth straps

Ever noticed how the right watch strap can completely transform your timepiece? Have you ever bought a watch, but you've been dissapointed by the quality of the strap that it came with? It happened to me a lot of times as well. Buying an affordable watch is not about buying a watch and strap package, it usually is about buying an affordable watch that usually is great if you like it and a strap or bracelet that can get you through the first days of wearing the watch until you manage to buy a strap that can last longer than the strap that the watch comes with. This certainly is a situation that delays the enthusiasm of getting a new watch and waring it directly.

Here comes Artem

A watch straps company based in Australia that manufactures durable straps suitable for all styles. For their durability and materials used I would call them the G-Shock of straps and for thier quality I would put them in the same category with the high end luxury watches.

I got to experience the loop-less collection from Artem and I was impressed about something. In my affordable watch collection journey I got to buy multiple straps for my watches and I’ve never had a watch strap that comfortable on my wrist. First of all, the materials used for these straps are embossed synthetic material with a leather underside that's coated with natural rubber. This type of sandwhich is held together by a strong stiching and attention to details in the manufscturing process. They are that comfortable that the first time I got to strap it on my wrist it felt like I had worn that strap for years and years. It was that comfortable and that soft on my wrist that it didn’t even need a break in time for adjusting to the shape of my 6.5 inch wrist.

Stainless steel deployant clasp

(Omega style)

In the same note, all that feeling was also given by the deployant clasp reminiscent of the Omega deployant clasps that all users claim to be the most comfortable types of clasps. Not only that this type of clasp is comfortable, but also keeps the money in your pocket taking care of your actual strap because it doesn’t put pressure points on your strap, making it last longer and serve you for years and years to come. The deployant clasp is entirely made out of a precisely cut stainless steel. I was glad to see that no pressed metal was used (thus no way of feeling cheap) and the closing click sound is subtle and audible enough to let you know that the strap and watch are going nowhere.

Sailcloth crafted with the spirit of adventure and comfort

The padded parts close to the spring bars and the tappered strap ends are also incredibly flexible and show no creases when bent and I was also impressed by the smooth rubber coated leather on the underside of the strap. It feels so soft and premium at the same time that the strap is built to last to a lot of stress over time.

The Loop-less collection features the sailcloth material that was especially designed for being worn on the wrist. After testing it, they found that the original sailcloth material lacked the smooth, high-quality feel they wanted for their straps. It seems real sailcloth might be a bit rough or stiff for comfortable wear, but they used a different approach. Instead, they chose a synthetic material with a textured design that imitates the look of sailcloth. This material likely provides the desired feel and performance without the drawbacks of genuine sailcloth.

From camping to an office desk

They're tough enough to conquer peaks and versatile enough to navigate boardrooms. They seamlessly transition from the exhilaration of the outdoors to the focused intensity of the office, all while keeping your watch secure and stylish, but the beauty lies not just in their adaptability. Unlike some straps that scream "weekend warrior" or "office drone," Artem's Loop-less design bridges the gap. The clean lines and the texture of the sailcloth show a quiet confidence, appropriate for a challenging climb or a closed-door meeting. The comfort factor is undeniable too. The soft underside and smooth finish feel great against your skin. Plus, the Loop-less design eliminates bulk and keeps the strap neatly tucked under the clasp, ensuring a snag free experience, no matter the activity.

Water can’t damage it

A water reiststant watch may sound common, but a water resistant strap might sound strange, but this is what an Artem strap truly is, a water resistant strap unlike leather that after exposed to UV rays and salty water beaks easly. Kayaking, paddleboarding, even a spontaneous dip in the ocean, the Artem strap takes it all in stride. A quick rinse and it's back to looking sharp, ready to tackle the next challenge, wet or dry. It's the perfect match for those who crave a life that blends exploration with everyday routine.

Pricy, but you get what you paid for

While the initial cost of an Artem Loop-less strap may seem like a significant investment (usually at around $200), its exceptional quality and enduring functionality provide a compelling justification. It represents a departure from disposable accessories, instead offering a long lasting companion for your watch. The strap embodies a spirit of preparedness, ensuring your timepiece remains protected and complements your attire in any situation. By choosing an Artem Loop-less strap, you are acquiring a product engineered to integrate with a dynamic lifestyle.

Does it feel weird to wear it on an affordable watch?

There is no rule in this world to tell what strap can be paired with an affordable watch. Some affordable watches are cheaper than an Artem strap itself, but a good strap can be defference between a watch being worn and loved everyday and a watch that you love and that you can’t wear as much as you would like because of the strap.

Artem straps can be paired with any watch and any style and such versatility make it a game changer lor a long lasting passion for a watch because the comfortable the watch feels on your wrist the more you’ll be wearing that watch. And unlike other straps that need to be changed every year and maybe more often, an Artem strap can last sometimes even more than the watch itself.

Conclusion

These are just my thoughts about these Loop-less straps from Artem after experiencing them for a few months. They are pricy, but I always think about the fact that you get what you paid for and you get it for a long time.
